April began her rescue journey in 2020 after discovering a tiny bottle baby kitten alone in the weeds. With no resources available and refusing to let the kitten go without help, she turned to YouTube and taught herself how to bottle-feed — a single act of compassion that ignited what has become a six-year journey of saving thousands of lives.

Having personally fostered countless cats, April eventually transformed an entire floor of her home into “Kitty Land” — a nurturing environment with individualized foster rooms, medical recovery spaces, and an inviting area for adopters to meet their future feline family members.

The success of Kitty Land over the years highlighted the need for a dedicated brick-and-mortar facility like April’s Kittens, where even more cats could receive the care, attention, and love they deserve.

April has become an expert in cases others might turn away from — neonatal kittens, cats with cerebellar hypoplasia (CH), complex medical cases, and dramatic transformations. With years of experience, a growing support base, and an unwavering passion for animal welfare, she knew it was time to build her own organization to continue this lifesaving mission on a larger scale.
